Portfolio of the South Baltic projects - part 1 - please find the projects in-line with the EU SBSR
The EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR) was adopted by the European Council on 30 October 2009. It has been developed to meet 4 key challenges for the Baltic Sea area. These are:
To enable a sustainable environment To enhance the region’s prosperity To increase accessibility and attractiveness To ensure safety and security in the region The decision makes the Strategy an EU wide Strategy. It responds to the identified needs by the eight Member States in the Baltic Sea Region, but it is in all EU (27) Member States' interest to support the development and implementation of the Strategy.
This will open up for a new approach on macro-regional cooperation in the EU.
