Projects approved during the 2nd call for proposals
The Steering Committee of the South Baltic Cross-border Co-operation Programme 2007 -2013 held a meeting in Kalmar on 6 - 7 April 2009 and decided to approve 12 projects amounting to 10,407,380.63 EUR (ERDF co-financing) in the framework of the 2nd call for proposals.
Projects were approved under the following measures of the Programme:
Priority Axis 1. Economic competitiveness
1.1.Entrepreneurial development – 3 projects
1.2. Integration of higher education and labour markets - 1 project
1.3.Transport accessibility – 2 projects
Priority Axis 2. Attractiveness and common identity
2.1.Management of the Baltic Sea environment - 1 project
2.2. Energy saving and renewable energy- 1 project
2.4. Local community initiatives – 4 projects
The second call for proposals of the South Baltic Cross-border Co-operation Programme 2007-2013 was open from 20 October 2008 to 9 January 2009 and brought to life altogether 22 interesting cross-border cooperation projects asking for 18, 28 MEUR ERDF co-finansing.
Approved projects are now undergoing the clarification process. As soon as the contracts are signed, more detailed information about the nature of projects will be presented here.

Projects approved during the 1st call for proposals
The first call for proposals within the Programme was held from 26 March 2008 until 30 April 2008.
Within the first call 17 project proposals were submitted. The total value of submitted applications amounted to 17,8 mln euro of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). As a result of the formal assessment, 10 application forms of total value of 10,6 mln euro (ERDF) were subject for the Steering Committee decision.
The first Steering Committee approved for co-financing 4 application forms amounting to more than 4,5 mln euro (ERDF). All projects were approved within the Programme Measure 2.3 Sustainable use of natural and cultural heritage for regional development.
